Day 6: Chanshal Pass & Farewell
Height: 3749mts | 1km Trek | 40km Drive
After breakfast, it’s time to bid goodbye to the cozy base camp and set out on a thrilling drive to Chanshal Pass, the highest point in Shimla district. The road winds upward through ridges and valleys until suddenly, you’re surrounded by towering ice walls on either side, the landscape opening into a vast amphitheatre of snow. Here, the Himalayas reveal their grand finale—ridge after ridge lining up in perfect harmony, snow‑laden peaks shimmering under the sun, and silence so pure it feels sacred. By afternoon, the descent begins, carrying you back to Rohru by evening, where the journey ends—but the Himalayas stay with you forever.

- Road transfers from Rohru to base camp and back in non-ac vehicles.

Instructors
1:15 instructor to guest ratio. Instructors for each trek will include trained and experienced adventure personnel, both male and female.
Accommodation
In tents – separate for male and female participants OR family tents. Usually 4 guests stay in a tent with camping mats, sleeping bags/blankets.
Toilets
The camps have tented toilets with a IC/WC with stored water provided for use. Hand-wash areas with running water are available near washrooms. Bathing facility is not available.
This trek might be more demanding than the usual physical activities you’re used to. We recommend a little jogging, stretching and exercising a few weeks before departure for the trek to gain the agility, flexibility and stamina needed to truly enjoy the experience.
The package is ex-Rohru. You can reach Rohru:
- by taking a Volvo Bus from Delhi to Rohru.
- by taking a taxi from Shimla.
