DHARAMKOT

Height: 2100mts | Sightseeing: Dharamshala
Your journey kicks off as you roll into Dharamsala, where our team scoops you up from the Volvo bus stand and whisks you straight to the cozy vibes of Dharamkot. A hearty breakfast sets the tone, followed by a quick freshen-up before the adventure begins. The day unfolds with a cultural wander—starting at the serene Dalai Lama (Kalchakra) Temple, where prayer flags flutter against snowy skies. Next, soak in the spiritual charm of Bhagsunag Temple, before diving headfirst into the colorful chaos of McLeodganj’s hippie market and quirky cafés. Think steaming momos, Tibetan trinkets, and stories waiting at every corner. As dusk settles, we head back to Dharamkot for a warm dinner and well-earned rest—fueling up for the snowy trails that await

BASE CAMP

Height: 2500mts | 6km Trek

Wake up to an early breakfast and wave goodbye to Dharamkot as we drive towards the trailhead. The trek kicks off from Kareri Nallah, where the crunch of fresh snow underfoot sets the rhythm for the day. By lunchtime, we reach the Kareri Base Camp, nestled in a valley blanketed with shimmering white. The afternoon is yours to rest, wander, and soak in the surreal beauty of snow-laden meadows and frosted pines. As the sun dips, the camp comes alive with high tea and steaming soup, followed by a hearty dinner under a canopy of stars. With the crackle of bonfire warmth and the hush of Himalayan night, this is winter magic at its finest.

KARERI LAKE

Height: 2934mts | 12km Trek

Fuel up with breakfast, lace up those boots, and get ready—the biggest trek day is here! From base camp, the trail winds upward through snow-laden forests and ridges, each step crunching into winter’s silence. The climb is steady, the air crisp, and then—suddenly—the prize reveals itself: Kareri Lake, frozen into a vast sheet of ice, shimmering beneath the mighty backdrop of Minkhiani Pass. Take a breather, wander across the snow-covered meadows, and let the surreal beauty sink in. After soaking it all in, the group retraces its steps back to base camp for lunch, before descending to the trailhead. Vehicles await to whisk you back to Dharamkot, where a warm dinner and cozy rest cap off this unforgettable Himalayan snow-globe adventure.

GOODBYE HIMALAYAS

Height: 2100mts 
After a late breakfast and a delightfully lazy morning, it’s time to check out and bid adieu to our Dharamkot stay. The group will be dropped at McLeodganj Square, conveniently close to the Volvo pick-up point (with cloak room facilities for luggage). The afternoon is yours to wander—sip coffee in quirky cafés, shop for Tibetan souvenirs, or simply soak in the mountain vibe one last time. As evening rolls in, board your bus with a heart full of memories and a camera full of snow-dusted snapshots. The trek may end here, but the story of Kareri Lake in winter will stay frozen in your soul forever.

Instructors

1:15 instructor to guest ratio. Instructors for each trek will include trained and experienced adventure personnel, both male and female.

Accommodation

In tents – separate for male and female participants OR family tents. Usually 4 guests stay in a tent with camping mats, sleeping bags/blankets. In hotel – rooms available on triple sharing basis.

Toilets

The camps have tented toilets with a IC with stored water provided for use. Hand-wash areas with running water are available near washrooms. Bathing facility is not available. The hotels have all requisite structured facilities available.

This trek might be more demanding than the usual physical activities you’re used to. We recommend a little jogging, stretching and exercising a few weeks before departure for the trek to gain the agility, flexibility and stamina needed to truly enjoy the experience.

The package is ex-Dharamshala. You can reach Dharamshala:

  • by taking a Volvo Bus from Delhi to Dharamshala.
  • by taking a train to Pathankot and an onwards taxi to Dharamshala.
  • by taking a flight to Dharamshala airport and an onwards taxi to Dharamshala.
  • Junoon Adventure will not be liable for any discrepancies in information provided by participants in their health declarations or any instance of infections during or post the event.
  • While we will try its level best to ensure all safety precautions, government guidelines and sanitization protocols are followed, Junoon Adventure shall not be held liable for mistakes/oversights by third party vendors including resort/hotel/catering/service teams
